SCAM ALERT – Fake Parking Ticket Texts

Feb 9, 2026

The 36th District Court is aware of a fraudulent text message circulating that claims recipients owe money for an unpaid parking citation, and directs them to a payment link.

These messages are NOT from the 36th District Court.

The scam message falsely uses the Court’s name, address, and a fake payment website. The Court does not send payment demands by text, and any official notices to appear are sent through US mail.

If you receive a message like this:

      •     Do not click the link

      •     Do not provide any personal or financial information

      •     Delete the message

To verify a real case or citation, contact the 36th District Court directly at 313-965-2200.

If you have already clicked the link or entered information, contact your bank and report the incident immediately.
