House Counsel

House Counsel Services works with the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission to coordinate attorney assignments to provide effective assistance of counsel to indigent defendants. 

Defendants – To request a court appointed attorney, you may complete and submit Form MC 222 Request for Court-Appointed Attorney and Order at your court appearance.

Attorneys – To request to be placed on the House Counsel Eligibility List, you may complete the application.  A member of House Counsel Services will contact you regarding the additional requirements necessary to fulfill the eligibility conditions.
